Accident Injury 01 300CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (8/21/19) — A driver and his passenger went to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision Saturday near the entrance to Walmart on Everly Brothers Boulevard in Central City.

Central City Police Department spokesman Assistant Chief Jason Lindsey said Officer Chris Cummings responded to the accident and found that at 8:39 p.m., Lloyd Johnston, 89 of Greenville was headed east in a 2009 Toyota and attempted to turn left into Walmart.

Belinda Meacham, 55 of Greenville was headed west in a 2012 Ford Fusion at the same time on Everly Brothers Boulevard. When Johnston attempted to turn into Walmart, his vehicle collided with Meacham’s.

Johnston and his passenger, 59-year-old Kerry Johnson of Greenville, were transported to Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville for treatment of possible injuries, said police. Meacham and her passengers were not injured.

Central City Fire Department and Muhlenberg EMS assisted at the scene.
