FEMAMUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (9/22/19) — The United Way of the Coalfields has announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency has awarded food and shelter grants available to Muhlenberg County agencies.

Muhlenberg County was selected to receive $16,714 to supplement emergency food and shelter programs in the county. Public or private voluntary agencies may apply for funds by contacting The United Way of the Coalfield, P.O. Box 366, 1 S. Maint St., Second Floor, Madisonville. 42431. United Way of the Coalfield issued a press release stating that qualifications for receive funds include being private voluntary non-profits or units of government, eligible to receive federal funds, have an accounting system, practice non-discrimination, have demonstrated the capacity to deliver emergency food and/or shelter programs and if a private voluntary organization, must have a voluntary board.
