CASE copyUPDATE (12/11/19) — Kentucky State Police Post 2 reported shortly after midnight that Justin Case, 19 of Bremen, has been located.

Case is charged with burglary and the murder of 42-year-old Overton Spoon of Greenville. His body was discovered in a yard off Kentucky 189-S in Greenville Tuesday afternoon.

No details were released pertaining to the cause of death nor information that led to the incident.

UPDATE: GREENVILLE, Ky. (12/10/19) — Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville was called to investigate the death of a Greenville man this atternoon.

A passerby called Muhlenberg County Central dispatch around 1:09 p.m. after discovering a deceased male lying in the side yard of a residence off Kentucky 189-S in Greenville, KSP indicated.

When Kentucky State Police arrived at the scene, they discovered Overton Spoon, 42 of Greenville, deceased, KSP Trooper Rob Austin wrote.

Through investigation, KSP obtained arrest warrants for Justin Case, 19 of Bremen. Case is described as a white male at 5-feet-10, blond hair, blue eyes and weighs approximately 175 pounds. Case has an active arrest warrant on the charges of first-degree burglary and murder.

UPDATE: (12/10/19) — Kentucky State Police Post 2 Spokesman Rob Austin confirmed this evening that there is an ongoing investigation related to today's death off Kentucky 189-S.

MUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (12/10/19) — First responders were called out to southern Greenville earlier this afternoon concerning a person found unresponsive on a man’s property.

Several police agencies were also at the scene, which was cordoned off. It is believed a person was found deceased on property situated between Roland Memorial Church and Pallet Mill Road.

Police have not yet confirmed this information. More will be provided as it becomes available.
