groceriesCENTRAL CITY, Ky. (12/11/19) — Muhlenberg Campus of Madisonville Community College has been awarded a $1,000 mini-grant from Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital to help fund their Food for Thought Food Pantry.

Muhlenberg Campus academic director Brittney Hernandez-Stevenson was happy to receive the grant, saying she was impressed by the community support in providing items for students with food insecurities.

MCC has launched Food for Thought food pantries at all campus locations to help address the food insecurity of students and their families, MCC official Jay Parrent reported. The mini-grant will allow the college to purchase additional nonperishable food items for student consumption. Healthy eating contributes to a healthy lifestyle, and the health professionals have been a leader in promoting healthy habits in the community.
