road work ahead 2015CENTRAL CITY, Ky. (1/13/20) — Road crews plan to begin clearing and grubbing operations along U.S. 62/Everly Brothers Boulevard near the CSX railroad bridge Tuesday, state officials reported.

The work will impact areas between mile-markers 16.5-18, which runs from U.S. 431 to Third Street in Central City, for the beginning phase to reconstruct U.S. 62 into a three-lane road. A curb, gutter and sidewalk will be added.

Speed will be reduced to 35 mph, officials said.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokeswoman Keirsten Jaggers said drivers should expect to be stopped by flaggers for short durations.

Officials ask drivers to reduce speed and pay attention to flaggers while traveling through the work zone.

The highway improvement project is set to be complete next fall.
