GriggsMUHLENBERG COUNTY, Ky. (2/10/20) — A Powderly man faces charges in connection to a burglary investigation at Eagles convenience store in Drakesboro.

Muhlenberg County Sheriff’s Office Spokesman Deputy Alex Piper reports the suspect broke the glass door, entered the store, stole lottery tickets and other items Feb. 2.

Brandon Griiggs, 28, was charged with second-degree burglary, falsely reporting an incident, second-degree criminal mischief and convicted felon in possession of a handgun. Griggs was listed as being held in Muhlenberg County Jail today, pending bond.

Griggs allegedly falsely reported a burglary in another area of the county prior to the incident in Drakesboro, Piper explained, in a possible attempt to lure law enforcement to another location.

Deputy Pat Putnam was the investigating officer.
