9898068 300x300vet ffffffCENTRAL CITY, KY., — James G. Hardin, 93, of Central City passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Owensboro Health Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. He was born March 2, 1924 in Hopkins County. He was a retired UMWA Miner of 30 years and a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church. James enjoyed working in his yard with his John Deere. He enjoyed his beloved pets Pepe and Cicero. He was grandfather to neighborhood children, nieces and nephews. He often shared his home with children from the children's home. He dearly loved his church and church family.

He was also a veteran of World War II where he received the Purple Heart, ETO Ribbon, American Defense Service Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the Bronze Star. He was in the American-European Theater battles that were engaged in France on August 4, 1944.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Lethie Hardin, brothers Richard, Odie Willis, Oscar, and Edward, sister Nobel Hardin. 

Survivors include his wife Betty Hardin and several nieces and nephews, he was also the step-father of John Bratcher, Thomas England, Ben England, and Paul England.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2017 at 11am at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Michael Graber officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Central City.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2017 at 5pm at the funeral home.
