10338476 300x300BREMEN, KY., — Virginia Nell Payne, 91, of Bremen passed away Friday, February 9, 2018 at Ridgewood Terrace Health and Rehabilitation. She was born in Muhlenberg County on February 28, 1926, to the late John H. Wilkins and Lillian J. Wilkins. Virginia loved listening to music and growing taking care of plants and flowers. She also loved birds and bird watching. She loved and enjoyed her family and was so very proud of all her grandchildren. She attended Briar Creek Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She worked at General Electric in her younger years, was a stay-at-home mom for many years and worked at Gossards and baby sat for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Joseph Gerard Payne in 1998, a grandson Eric Payne in 2010, and a sister Louise Payton in 2017.

Survivors include her daughters Barbara Payne, Linda Whittinghill, grandchildren Bennett Cronin, Erin Cronin, Miranda (Jason) Rentsch, Justin (Ayumi) Whittinghill, Jessica (Lance) Riley, Jenna Whittinghill, brother Joe (Gerrie) Wilkins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at 11am at Tucker Memorial Chapel in Sacramento with Bro. Matt Boyd officiating. Burial will be in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in St. Joseph.

Visitation will be held Monday, February 12, 2018 from 5pm – 8pm at the funeral home.
