RICE BILLYE MARYYOUNGSVILLE, LA., — Billye Mary Rice, 87, of Youngsville former resident of Greenville, KY passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Cornerstone South under hospice care peacefully surrounded by family. She was born on February 28, 1932 in Muhlenberg County, KY. She lived her first 18 years in Paradise, KY which she dearly loved.

At the age of 12 she accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior then was baptized in the Green River. Afterwards, she graduated from Drakesboro High School in 1950. Upon graduation she married and had 2 children then worked for 20 years at Stewart's IGA then 24 years at Muhlenberg Community Hospital. She was a Kentucky Colonel and a member of the women's Red Hat Society. She loved spending time with her many friends and taking care of her dogs she had through the years. She was also a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church.

Survivors include 2 children Linda (Dan) Curtis and Wayne (Judy) Rice. She also left behind 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren and a sister Joyce Robbins of Charlotte, North Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 1 grandson.

Graveside services will be conducted at 10am in Bethlehem Cemetery on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 with Reverend E.W. Greenwalt officiating.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice.
