MADISONVILLE, Ky. (2/11/16) — A new program at Madisonville Community College will be putting students and job seekers closer to where the “rubber meets the road” by offering training and  certificates at its Advanced Integrated Manufacturing lab.

Manufacturers and industries should be keen on hiring those students that have not only learned the basics of safe training and Lean Manufacturing at MCC's AIM lab, but also have had hands-on experience operating equipment including computer numerical controlled and injection moulding machines. Par4 Plastics in Marion donated one of its injection moulding machines for the college's use.

The AIM lab will be introduced to the community during an open house from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 18 in the first floor of the Brown Badgett Sr. Energy & Advanced Technology Center at 2000 College Drive in Room 138 just down from the building's mezzanine.

MCC's Dr. Deborah Cox and AIM Program Coordinator Bartley Johnson recently spoke to SurfKY News about the benefits of the program, what training will be provided and why employers should find MCC's AIM students as attractive potential employees.
