Maroons logoLOUISVILLE, Ky. (12/21/19) — Madisonville-North Hopkins dominated in the opening round of the King of the Bluegrass at Fairdale High School on Friday, rolling past 13th Region championship contender Clay County 83-57.

With the win, Madisonville-North Hopkins moved to 6-0.

Clay County dropped to 5-2 with the loss.

The Maroons gradually separated themselves from Clay County. Madisonville-North Hopkins led 38-20 at halftime and outscored Clay County 24-15 in the third quarter.

Kenny White led Madisonville-North Hopkins with a double-double, scoring 30 points and pulling down 15 rebounds. Deljuan Johnson added 15 points while Ksuan Casey chipped in 10 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for the Maroons.

Jacob Curry paced Clay County with a team-high 21 points in the setback.
