cows grazingOHIO COUNTY, Ky. (7/31/19) — Green River Agricultural agents hosted the first “Midwest Beef Summit” in 2017. The goal of the program is to provide an in-depth educational programing designed to help beef producers manage and select cattle suited for long-term production in today’s marketplace.

The Green River Area Ag Agents, in collaboration with the Indiana and Illinois agents, are again offering this unique program – “Midwest Beef Summit”. The program will be held 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (registration at 8 a.m.) Aug. 27 at the Owensboro Convention Center.

Speakers will discuss issues such as nutritional requirements of bred heifers, dealing with dystocia,
breed, complimentary and cow carrying costs and bred heifer development costs. Registration is $25 which includes a copy of proceedings and lunch. There will also be breaks.

Some of the top beef and economic specialists in the U.S. have been selected for this conference.
