arrest handcuffs words grungy300McHENRY, Ky. (8/8/19) — A two-hour standoff with a fugitive out of Indiana last night in Ohio County led to his arrest and incarceration.

Kentucky State Police said troopers and U.S. Marshals were searching surrounding counties for Roger D. Burnett, 32 of Lewisport, when their investigation led troopers to the 100 block of James Street in McHenry. When troopers arrived on James Street, they saw Burnett in a driveway. Burnett then ran inside a residence and barricaded himself.

After two hours, Burnett was taken into custody without further incident. He was charged by KSP with fleeing police on foot, first-degree criminal trespassing, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, absconding parole supervision and as a fugitive from another state.

Burnett was transported to Ohio County Detention Center in Hartford to await extradition to Indiana. He is not listed on the OCDC inmate roster as of this publication.
