york filback arrestsBEAVER DAM, Ky. (8/19/19) — A Hartford police officer spotted a vehicle Sunday afternoon that had just been stolen and pursued it until spike sticks ended the chase in Daviess County.

After Ohio County Dispatch gave a “be on the look out” call for a vehicle stolen from the laundry mat in Beaver Dam shortly before noon, Lt. Brent Lindsey of the Hartford Police Department spotted the vehicle speeding along Kentucky 69 North.

HPD said when Lindsey attempted to stop the vehicle, it accelerated and turned onto Kentucky 1543 toward U.S. 62 East. At the end of Kentucky 1543, the vehicle turned toward Beaver Dam and met a responding Beaver Dam Police Department unit, which was forced off the road by the stolen vehicle.

The pursuit ended approximately 20 minutes later on U.S. 231 in Daviess County when Kentucky State Police deployed spike strips.

The driver, 40-year-old Daniel York of Evansville, Indiana, was charged with theft by unlawful taking/auto, three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree fleeing or evading police/motor vehicle, reckless driving, first-degree wanton endangerment/police officer, unlawful imprisonment, no operator’s license, disregarding a stop sign and disregarding a traffic control device. He is being held in the Ohio County

HPD said York’s passenger, 26-year-old Leslieann Filback of Cromwell was charged on multiple warrants and is being held on a $5,000 cash bond in OCDC, where it is listed she faces charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance/meth and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.
