Hopkins County Central StormMADISONVILLE, Ky. (9/11/19) — Returning to the win column following a shutout loss one day earlier, Hopkins County Central outlasted visiting Webster County 4-3 in a girls' high school soccer match on Tuesday.

Hopkins County Central and Webster County are Second Region rivals. 

With the win, Hopkins County Central improved to 6-3.

Webster County dropped to 3-5 with the loss.

Katelyn Cavanaugh (two goals, one assist), Priya Holmes (one goal) and Lily Melton (one goal, one assist) combined to pace Hopkins County Central offensively.

Goalkeeper Kire Peyton paced Hopkins County Central defensively, recording 11 saves.

Marissa Austin scored all three of Webster County's goals in the loss, with Abbie Michalek, Paige Shepherd and Brooke Shepherd providing one assist apiece.

Webster County goalkeeper Kira Cavanaugh notched nine saves in the setback.
