Maroons logoOWENSBORO, Ky. (2/21/20) — Madisonville-North Hopkins won its regular-season finale on Thursday night, topping host Apollo 65-54 in a girls' high school basketball game.

With the win, Madisonville-North Hopkins improved to 25-1.

Apollo dropped to 20-8 with the loss.

Madisonville-North Hopkins shot 43.9 percent (25-of-57) from the field. The Lady Maroons were 6-of-17 (35.3 percent) from 3-point range.

Madisonville-North Hopkins shot 75 percent (7-of-12) from the free throw line.

Courtney Peyton led Madisonville-North Hopkins with a game-high 19 points. Peyton was 9-of-12 from inside the arc. Following the game's leading scorer, Amari Lovan added 14 points for the Lady Maroons while Lindsey Peyton contributed 12 points.

Madisonville-North Hopkins moved ahead early, outscoring Apollo 21-6 in the opening quarter. The Lady Maroons led 41-30 at halftime.

Chipping in for Madisonville-North Hopkins, Camryn LaGrange netted eight points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Kassidy Daugherty paced Apollo with a team-high 17 points. Narrowly missing double figures for the E-Gals, Addison Carter scored nine points.
