Mardi-Gras-Sr-2-14-16PADUCAH, Ky, (2/14/16) — The wintry weather didn't keep people from attending the 14th annual Lourdes Foundation's Mardi Gras and All That Jazz fundraiser held at the Julian Carroll Convention Center.

Lourdes supporters turned out to celebrate Fat Tuesday raising more than $70,000 in total proceeds to benefit the Lourdes Foundation. Funds raised at this annual event are used to support programs and services, provide facility upgrades and purchase state-of-the-art technology for the patients of Lourdes Hospital. These Foundation contributions have helped fund enhancements such as a newly renovated Outpatient Infusion Therapy Center, The Lourdes Center for Sleep Disorders, The Ray and Kay Eckstein Cardiovascular Institute, the Montgomery Cardiac Hybrid Operating Room and the Schroeder Endovascular Hybrid Operating Room.

"I am so grateful to be a part of such a giving community," said Diane Davis, Lourdes Foundation President. "Last year, our Mardi Gras funds allowed us to purchase a 3D mammography machine for our Women's Center. I look forward to seeing what impact we will have in 2016."

Mardi Gras and All That Jazz has raised more than $900,000 in proceeds for the Lourdes Foundation since it began in 2003 to fund important needs at Lourdes.

"Lourdes has earned its reputation as a trusted community leader at delivering high quality healthcare to all who seek care at Lourdes," stated Steven Grinnell, Lourdes President and CEO. "Our success is the result of the faith our community and donors have entrusted us with and in our ability to deliver leading edge services to our patients."

A live auction of Bill Ford's original Mardi Gras artwork and a pen and ink original of The Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center were auctioned off at the event. Guests enjoyed food and beverages from a variety of local restaurants and vendors while Lew Jetton and 61 South entertained the crowd with classic blues and Southern rock music.
