RAILROAD crossing 300WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (9/20/18) — CSX Railroad plans several street and highway closures in Sebree for rail crossing upgrades starting Monday, state highway officials reported.

CSX plans to close Dixon and Webster streets Monday and Tuesday Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokesman Keith Todd said. This closure could continue into Wednesday morning.

CSX plans to close a section of Kentucky 56/Main Street in Sebree starting Tuesday-Sept. 28 to allow upgrades to a rail crossing at milepoint 12.359. This is along Kentucky 56/Main Street, between U.S. 41 and Spring Street, just east of downtown Sebree. There will be a marked detour via Kentucky 132, 494, and U.S. 41. Approximately 3,600 vehicles travel this section of Kentucky 56 in an average day.

Once Dixon Street and Webster Street are reopened, Jefferson Street is expected to be closed Wednesday-Friday, Sept 28.

All of these closure points are about a block west of U.S. 41 in Sebree, Todd reported. Drivers should be aware of these rail crossing upgrades and allow extra travel time to navigate around the closures via side streets or along the marked detour for Kentucky 56.
