rail roadWEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (3/21/19) — CSX Railroad plans to close a section of Kentucky 109 in Webster County for rail crossing work starting Wednesday, state highway officials reported.

Kentucky 109 will be closed at milepoint 3.78 in the Diamond community, between Clay and Providence, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokesman Keith Todd said.

This closure of Kentucky 109 in the Diamond Community is expected to start at approximately 8 a.m. and reopen to traffic sometime during the day Saturday, March 30.

CSX will place variable message boards along Kentucky 109 near this rail crossing in Daimond to alert commuters to this planned closure. Todd reported there will be a marked detour via Kentucky 1525 and 120. CSX and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will attempt to provide timely notice if KY 109 is able to reopen earlier than expected.

CSX Railroad also plans to close crossings on the following county roads and city streets in Webster County for rail work during the week of March 27:

Bruce Road
Bill Dorris Road
Baptist Hill Road
Bellville Road
Finely Avenue in Providence
Church Street in Providence
