rail roadWEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (3/26/19) — CSX Railroad plans to close a section of Kentucky 120 in Webster County to allow rail crossing work starting Monday, state highway officials reported.

Kentucky 120 will be closed at Webster County milepoint 3.75 to allow upgrades to a rail crossing at the west edge of Providence.

Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Spokesman Keith Todd reported the road at this site is expected to close approximately 8 a.m. Monday and reopen to traffic sometime during the day Thursday, April 4.

CSX will place variable message boards near the crossing to alert commuters to the planned closure, Todd said. There will be a marked detour via Kentucky 1525 and 109.

Todd also indicated the CSX rail crew also could be working on additional nearby crossings along county roads and city streets.
