interstate 69 300WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (6/22/19) — Northbound lanes along I-69 near the Sebree Exit were still closed 5:45 p.m. today as first responders work at the scene of a serious crash that previously had all lanes of traffic at a standstill. The northbound lanes were reopening to traffic at 5:58 p.m.

It appears the vehicles hit head-on. It is believed the driver of the SUV passed out while headed southbound, crossed the median and crashed in the passenger car. Firefighters from Robards, Sebree and Poole extricated a female who was trapped inside the car.

Webster County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident involving two vehicles and three injured. Two drivers were taken from the scene by ambulance and one passenger was flown from the scene to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.

Slaughters Fire Department crews were working to block traffic near the Sebree Exit. Workers were also in the process of removing wreckage in the northbound lanes.
