KnoblickCrkBridgeReplace082619WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (8/20/19) — Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to close a section of Kentucky 283 in northern Webster County starting Monday.

The road will be closed at mile point 4.921 to allow the Knoblick Creek Bridge to be replaced beginning 6 a.m., KYTC Spokesman Keith Todd reported. This closure is along Kentucky 283, between Sam Simpson Road and Kentucky 56.

Todd reports there will be no marked detour, and drivers can choose to self-detour via side roads, while trucks should self-detour via U.S. 41-A and Kentucky 56.

The existing Knoblick Creek Bridge will be demolished and replaced with a pre-fabricated aluminum span structure, Todd indicated. The roadway at this site is expected to reopen to traffic around 3:30 p.m. Aug. 30.

A lane restriction may be required at this site the following week to allow some finish work on the project, Todd said. The project is being completed by the KYTC Webster County Highway Maintenance Crew with assistance from a contractor.
