flooding 2017WESTERN Ky. (2/12/20) — The National Weather Service in Paducah has issued a flash flood watch for the entire region as rain continues to pour, while some areas are under a flash flood warning.

Areas affected by the flash flood warning include southwestern Hopkins, McLean, Christian, Muhlenberg, Todd and Trigg counties through 10 p.m. today, according to the NWS.

Water is rising in areas along rivers and streams, with flash flooding expected. A flash flood warning means it is occurring or imminent, and residents in the warned areas should relocate to higher ground.

NWS also indicated an arctic air mass is headed in Thursday, with temperatures plummeting much below normal by tomorrow afternoon.
